RILEY, Ernest Uriah, d. 1892
The Banner, Thursday, October 6, 1892 (Ozark, AL)
Died near Echo, Dale county, Sept 22, 1892, Ernest Uriah RILEY,
son of
Charley and Della RILEY, being nine months
and thirteen days old. Little
Ernest was a very lovable babe, and especially very interesting in his
sickness - on the eighth day of which he opened his eyes and seemed to be
gazing on some object which pleased him very much, throwing his little hands
up continuously and moving his lips as if trying to talk. This lasted
about
six hours, during which time the writer and others really expected to hear
him speak out, he seemed so interested in what he was looking at. He
lived
two days after this, and quietly breathed his last. A pall of sadness
has
settled over that family; but we weep not as those who have no hope, for he
has gone to a clime more lovely than this. The tender bud has been
plucked
from earth, to be transplanted by angel hands in heaven, where it will bloom
for ever. Sorrowing parents, weep not; little Ernest waits for
you.
In a land of fadeless bloom
Beyond the clouds, beyond the tomb.
Daniel RILEY, Jr.
